ROCs information evening 29th September

The recent announcements by The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) on its intention to close the Renewables Obligation in England and Wales to new onshore wind projects from 1 April 2016 has created much uncertainty in the Northern Ireland wind energy market. Further, the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has made stringent cuts to the Feed in Tariffs for small and medium scale Wind and Solar Energy projects.

Early indications from the Northern Ireland Assembly Energy committee discussions on the Northern Ireland Renewable Obligation (NIROC) support mechanism reflect a desire from DECC to also close the NIROC earlier than DETI had previously proposed. This ongoing review casts a major doubt over many renewable projects which have yet to be developed.

The GreenYard is hosting an information evening in Loughry College on the 29th of September at 7.30pm. The event will discuss:

  • The Present Status of NIROCs Support Mechanism;
  • How you can Finance your projects;
  • How to get accredited for NIROCs and Optimise returns;
  • How to Effectively Manage your Renewable Incomes.

A number of key speakers will update the sector on these key aspects of developing your project and illustrate how decisive actions are key to ensuring that you can avail of the current ‘4 ROCs’ support mechanism. This event is an essential and timely opportunity to make yourself aware of the current status of the renewables sector and how best you can protect and optimise your investments.

Pre booking for this event is essential, a fee of £10 per person is applicable. Please contact us to reserve your place.
