NIE have released a new “Heat Map” outlining the capability and capacity of the grid network in Northern Ireland. The grid network has been under increasing pressure as more and more renewable installations become connected to the grid. Areas which are shaded red and substations which are marked red indicate where there will be significant investment needed in order to connect new generators to the grid.
